Granite Construction publishes a number of annual ads for external recruiting. Over the past four years, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with our Inclusive diversity and recruiting teams across the company to design digital and print ads for multiple publications.
Connections Magazine
Granite Construction has an internal quarterly magazine that is published and mailed to all its employees. The magazine highlights news, current projects, our people, and community. When I joined the team, I took over the design process, and we began designing in house. I am now responsible for organizing and compiling the content, designing the spreads, coordinating revisions with our editor, and preparing the packaged files for the printer. I am going on my fourth year of leading the design charge.

What began as a simple collage became the artwork we featured throughout the year in a variety of marketing mediums, from social graphics to printed digital banners. I scoured through hundreds of photos to find the photos that represented the markets that we do work in and highlight the diverse employees that work for Granite.
100 year collage
I designed window decals that highlighted a project or milestone that occurred in each decade. I searched through our historical archives for the older photos (two most right panes) and used photo restoration to colorize the older photos that were originally black and white.
Through the decades
I designed ‘Welcome’ and ‘Thank You’ signs to greet our guests at our entrances and exits.
